Anna Danuta Bańkowska (born April 30, 1946 in Żnin ) is a Polish politician and member of the Sejm in the 10th electoral term ( PRL ), as well as the I., II., III., IV. And VI . Election period ( Third Republic ).

In 1968 she graduated from the Faculty of Commerce and Goods Science of the Poznan Economic Academy . From 1970 to 1991 she was employed in the agricultural machinery factory in Inowrocław . From 1995 to 1998 she was the head of Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych (State Social Insurance).

From 1989 to 2005 she was a member of the Sejm, initially for the Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza (Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR), which she joined in 1976, then on the list of Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej (Federation of the Democratic Left - SLD). At the SLD she was among other things chairwoman of the commission for social and family policy.

In March 2004 she founded the new party Socjaldemokracja Polska (Socjaldemokracja Polska - SdPl) together with other members of the SLD, Unia Pracy and with Marek Borowski at the helm . From 2006 to 2007 she was a member of the Sejmik for the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship .

In the parliamentary elections in 2007 she was re-elected to the Sejm via the list of Lewica i Demokraci (Left and Democrats - LiD) with 7,227 votes for the constituency of Bydgoszcz . She is deputy chairwoman of the Sejm Commission for Social Policy and Family.

In April 2008 she resigned from the SdPl and on April 22nd she became a member of the Lewica faction .
