Anna Denissowna Burtassowa ( Russian Анна Денисовна Буртасова ; born February 19, 1987 in Vladimir ) is a Russian lawyer , chess player and since 2004 International Women's Champion (WIM). In 2009 she received the title of Women's Grandmaster (WGM) from FIDE . Burtasowa has been registered for the Canadian Chess Federation since February 2019.

Life

Anna Burtassowa is a trained lawyer, freelance chess journalist and project manager in the field of chess. She was press officer at the North Ural Cup for women and public relations officer at the Women's World Cup, is a project manager at the marketing organization of the World Chess Federation in Moscow and, since 2011, has been a public relations officer at the Russian Chess Federation in Moscow. From 2004 to 2009 she was a youth coach at the Vladimir chess club.

Chess career

From 1999 to 2007 she played in Russian championships, European championships and world championships for female youth. In 2002 she became Russian U16 champion. In 2003 she won the Russian U17 girls' Spartakiad in Kazan . In 2005 she also won the Mondariz Open in Spain and women’s tournaments in Kharkiv (Ukraine).

In 2004 Burtasova was named International Women's Champion (WIM), she met the necessary standards in November 2003 at the Young Cup Russia in Serpukhov and in December 2003 at the Bykowa Memorial in Vladimir. She achieved the norms for the title of Women's Grandmaster (WGM) in 2006 and 2007 at Ukrainian women's tournaments and in 2009 at an international title tournament in Kharkiv.

Burtasova is listed as inactive at FIDE (as of January 2015), as she did not play an Elo rated game after the Moscow Open in February 2013 .

In the 1st German Women's Chess League , she scored 11.5 points from 12 games for her club USV TU Dresden from 2007 to 2009 . In the 2010/11 season she played for the team of SC Bad Königshofen , for which she was registered in the following season, but was not used.
