Anna Favella (born September 21, 1983 in Rome ) is an Italian actress .

life and career

Anna Favella was born in the Italian capital Rome, where she grew up. She initially worked as a theater actress. She made her stage actress debut in 2005 under the direction of Roberto Lucci . With the play Amianto - paura di avere paura , which premiered in 2007 at the theater company CK Teatro (Colossal Kitch Teatro) in the Teatro dell'Orologio in Rome, she had a great success on the theater stage. In the following years she took on the main female role of Virginia in the play Love - L'amore ai tempi della ragione permanente , a homage to Ingmar Bergman , based on his film Scenes of a Marriage . She played this role a. a. in January 2013 and May 2014 at the Teatro dell'Orologio (Sala Orfeo) in Rome. She had other theater appearances a. a. in the pieces Cashmere WA (2013), Delitto Pasolini - Una considerazione inattuale (2011), Due dozzine di rose scarlatte by Aldo De Benedetti (2008; as Marina) and Il Gobbo (German: Buckel ; 2008, as Onka) by Sławomir Mrożek .

She made her television debut in 2008 in the Italian miniseries Enrico Mattei - L'uomo che guardava al futuro , in which she played Priscilla Leoni, an American spy . In 2009 she starred in the role of Gaia in an episode of the 7th season of the long-running Italian television series Don Matteo . Her success as a television actress began in 2010 with the Italian TV series Terra ribelle on Rai 1 . She took on the role of Elena Giardini / Marsili in the series and embodied the younger daughter of the Tuscan Count Giardini. She was one of the main characters in the series , along with Rodrigo Guirao Díaz . In 2011 she shot the second season of the series Terra ribelle - Il nuovo mondo , which was then also broadcast on Rai 1 from October 2012.

In the Italian independent film Mr. America (2013), a thriller about the artist Andy Warhol by Leonardo Ferrari Carissimi , she played the female lead. In 2011 she was nominated as the best leading actress at the 51st Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo and at the 68th Mostra del Cinema di Venezia in the category “personaggio dell'anno” for the Premio Kinéo.

Favella is in a relationship with the Italian theater, film and television director Leonardo Ferrari Carissimi, with whom she worked regularly in theater and in film. She lives in Rome.
