Anna Freixas (born July 21, 1946 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish psychologist and university professor.

Life

Freixas holds a PhD in Psychology on the Self-Image of Aging Women from the University of Barcelona . As a professor of evolutionary psychology and education at the University of Cordoba , she founded the Women's Studies Classroom in 1994. Her research interests include the aging of women, co-education and feminism, as well as psychology from a gender perspective. She is considered a pioneer of feminist age research in Spain. Her book Sans Reglas , in German without rules. Eroticism and freedom for women according to the rule was published in 2018 by Orlanda Verlag UG.

Awards

  • Freixas received 1993 for her work “Women and Aging. Psychosocial Aspects "the Dr. Rogelia Duocastella Prize for Social Science Research, awarded by the La Caixa Foundation .
  • In 1999 she received the sixth Carmen de Burgos Feminist Disclosure Award , presented by the Association of Historical and Women's Studies at the University of Málaga .
  • In 2009 she received the Meridiana Award from the local government of Andalusia in recognition of her work for gender equality in the category of art production, culture and sporting initiatives.
