Anna Henneberg

Anna Henneberg ( February 28, 1867 in Gernrode - December 3, 1931 in Munich ) was a German opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ) and singing teacher .

Life

Anna Henneberg was trained for the stage by Lilli Lehmann , Johanna Wagner-Jachmann and Emma Seehofer . After working at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and taking part in Angelo Neumann's Wagner tour through Russia, she joined the Association of the Berlin Court Opera in 1890 , where she stayed until 1894, then came to the Court Theater in Stuttgart , whereupon she appeared as a guest excellent theaters and retired to Berlin in 1897, where she founded an opera school with its own stage. In 1899 she moved to Munich, where she gave drama and singing lessons.

On November 17, 1915, Henneberg opened her Munich Chamber Opera in the Hotel Union on Barerstrasse, which existed for a few years, but she resigned its management "due to financial difficulties on December 8, 1916". Anna Henneberg was a valued singer in alto and mezzo-soprano roles.
