Anna Holzscheiter

Anna Holzscheiter (* 3. July 1976 ) is a German political scientist with the research areas of global governance , global health policy, discourse research, Human Rights , Non-State Actors and International Political Sociology . Since May 2019 she has been Professor of International Politics at the Technical University of Dresden .

Life

Between October 1996 and September 2001, Holzscheiter completed a degree in political science, communication science and English philology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , which she completed in December 2001 with a Master of Arts in International Relations and Political Theory at the University of Westminster . Since 2003 she has repeatedly worked as a consultant for UNICEF and the German Institute for Human Rights . In March 2006, a doctorate it in the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Freie Universität Berlin for Dr. phil. with summa cum laude . From July 2006 to March 2015, she was a research assistant at the Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy at the Free University of Berlin. During this time she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Public Health & Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine between August 2007 and October 2010 and a John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellow at the Center for European Studies at Harvard between September 2014 and August 2015 University . From April 2015 she became a junior professor for political science and international relations at the Free University of Berlin and head of the research group on global health policy at the Free University of Berlin and the Berlin Science Center for Social Research .

On May 1, 2019, Anna Holzscheiter accepted the professorship for international politics at the Technical University of Dresden. She succeeded Eugénia da Conceição-Heldt , who held the professorship until June 2016, and Mark Arenhövel , who represented her from September 2016 to April 2019.
