Anna M. Schafroth

Anna Magdalena Schafroth (* 1961 in Sumiswald ) is a Swiss art historian , curator and author .

Life

Anna M. Schafroth was born in Sumiswald in the canton of Bern. She attended grammar school in Burgdorf BE and then studied art history , architectural history and history at the University of Bern with a Lic. Phil. hist. in 1999. She has worked at the Kunstmuseum Bern since 1983 . From 2004 to 2006 she worked at the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern. Since 1997 she has been working as a freelance curator in numerous exhibitions in museums in Switzerland, Germany and in the Bardo National Museum in Tunisia, with accompanying publications. She also writes articles for encyclopedias such as the online encyclopedia SIKART of the Swiss Institute for Art Research in Zurich, the general artist encyclopedia (AKL) in Munich and the Swiss encyclopedia of the publishing house Mengis + Ziehr, Lucerne. Anna Schafroth is married to the tenor Martin Hostettler and lives in Bern.
