Anna Maria Praschl

Anna Maria Praschl (* 24. October 1920 in Rejštejn , Czechoslovakia ; † 10. February 2014 in Linz ) was an Austrian OGB - Gewerkschaftsfunktionärin and politician ( SPÖ ). From 1970 to 1985 she was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

Life

Anna Maria Praschl attended the elementary school in Rabus near Kaplitz and the secondary school in Budweis . From 1941 to 1943 she graduated from the library school in Leipzig. She then worked at the municipal library in Graz until 1944, then at the Krems city library until 1945. Praschl switched to the Linz Chamber of Labor, where she built up the social science library. From 1947 she was a member of the women's committee of the ÖGB state executive; In 1969 she became chair of the committee; she was also active on the education committee. In 1981 she retired.

politics

Praschl joined the SPÖ in 1946 and became a member of the Linz-Land District Women's Committee and the State Women's Committee; from 1970 she was on the presidium of both organizations. In 1977 she was appointed to the state executive committee of the SPÖ. From 1970 to 1985 she was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag, where she mainly dealt with social and cultural issues.
