construction

Atonement Cross Anna Chapel

The octagonal structure has a conical roof with a bay window . In the middle of the roof there is a paw cross in the shape of a German cross . The Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem may have served as a model for the rotunda . The patroness of the chapel, St. Anne , is depicted in an altar niche in the chapel.

The ceiling frescoes show the three theological virtues of faith (cross and chalice), love (vessel with fire), and hope (image of an anchor). The fourth ceiling picture shows St. Michael , patron of the parish church of Altshausen.

Next to the chapel is an atonement cross .
