Anne-Sophie Thilo

Anne-Sophie Thilo (born December 3, 1987 ) is a Swiss sailor . Together with Emmanuelle Rol she sails in the boat class 470 dinghy .

In 1994 Thilo and Rol started sailing in the Optimist class, four years later they took part in international regattas for the first time . In 2001 the switch to the 420 dinghy took place . In this class they were fourth in the European Junior Championship and U17 World Champion in 2002 and Junior World Champion in 2004. From 2005 they sailed with the 470 dinghy and in the same year they won the silver medal at the European Junior Championships. In 2006, the European championship and the junior runner-up world championship followed. In 2008 they achieved their greatest success to date with second place at the European Championship. At the Olympic sailing competitions in 2008 in Qingdao , they came in 17th place.

Thilo is a member of the Club Nautique de Pully and belongs to the national team of the Swiss Sailing Association. She studies communication science at the ETH Lausanne .
