Anne Cecilie Brusletto (born June 22, 1988 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian ski racer . She achieved her best placings in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom and in 2010 won the giant slalom classification of the Nor-Am Cup .

Career

Anne Cecilie Brusletto first took part in FIS races in November 2003 . From the 2004/05 season she was able to place herself regularly in the top 10 and win her first races. She also took part in the 2004 Junior World Championships in Maribor and the European Youth Olympic Festival 2005 in Switzerland , but did not achieve any top placements there. At the Norwegian Championships in March 2005, she finished third in the giant slalom for the first time on the podium. In March 2007 she took part in a junior world championship for the second time and placed 34th, only in slalom she was eliminated. From January 2004 she competed in the European Cup several times , but did not make it into the points for the time being. It wasn't until November 9, 2007 that she won her first points with eighth place in the indoor slalom in the alpincenter Bottrop, and this has remained her best European Cup result to this day. At FIS races, however, she achieved numerous podium places and won six races in a row in February 2008. At the Norwegian Championships in 2009 she was second in giant slalom behind Lotte Smiseth Sejersted .

Since 2009 Brusletto has been studying at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque , United States . It has therefore mainly been racing in the USA since winter 2009/10. In contrast to the European Cup , she achieved great successes in the Nor-Am Cup and celebrated two victories in the giant slalom of Panorama in mid-December . With another three top 10 results, she won the giant slalom classification in the 2009/10 season , was 15th in the slalom classification and seventh in the overall classification. After her victories in the Nor-Am Cup, she was given the opportunity to take part in a World Cup race for the first time on January 24, 2010 in the giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo , but was eliminated in the first round. In the 2010/11 season, she was unable to match her Nor-Am results from the previous year due to several failures. After an injury in the summer of 2011, she was sidelined for the entire 2011/12 season. It was not until January 2013 that she took part in races again.
