Anneliese Wellensiek

Anneliese Wellensiek (née Keller ; born August 3, 1958 in Wiesloch ; † June 7, 2015 in Heidelberg ) was a German educationalist .

Life

After graduating from high school in Wiesloch in 1977, Wellensiek studied to be a secondary school teacher at the Heidelberg University of Education until 1982 . Wellensiek then gained experience in the private sector (including Behringwerke Mannheim) before starting her doctoral studies at Heidelberg University in 1988 . There followed in 1993 the doctorate to Dr. phil. with the dissertation Don't give AIDS a chance - what is the challenge for educational science here? After working as a research assistant, mainly at the PH Heidelberg, she completed her habilitation in 2004 with the thesis Understanding and Assessing Genetic Engineering: a contribution to the investigation of the structures of an understanding of natural sciences in the medium of socialization interaction at the University of Hamburg .

After her habilitation, Wellensiek initially worked there as a private lecturer before she was appointed university professor for educational science in 2006 with a special focus on didactics of the natural sciences with a focus on chemistry and physics didactics.

In 2009 Wellensiek took over the post of rector of the Heidelberg University of Education.
