Annett Illig

Annett Illig (* 1968 ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Annett Illig grew up in Bermsgrün and studied from 1980 in a special class for music at the "Käthe Kollwitz" in Zwickau . In 1984 she began studying singing at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music in Leipzig with Sigrid Kehl and Hans-Joachim Beyer . Five years later she moved to the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin . There she passed the state examination with diploma in 1994. From 1991 she also took regular lessons with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf .

Annett Illig had her first permanent engagement at the Eduard-von-Winterstein-Theater in Annaberg-Buchholz . In 2004 she left the ensemble and has been working freelance since then.

Her repertoire includes opera, operettas and musical roles as well as classical and modern libretti. She has also recorded several CDs with songs from the Ore Mountains, mainly by Anton Günther .
