Marianne Martin

Marianne Martin , née Kuhn, (born May 14, 1935 in Chemnitz ) is a German dialect speaker, local poet and television presenter who writes and moderates predominantly in the Ore Mountains dialect .

Live and act

Martin was born in Chemnitz, but one year later moved with her parents to Thalheim , where she still lives today.

During her apprenticeship as a fine hosiery specialist, she stood on a stage in the 3 Tannen hosiery factory for the first time in a platform program for the foundation of the GDR on October 7, 1949. As a result, she founded the 3 Tannen Thalheim ensemble , in which up to 75 members participated. After its dissolution in 1961, she was in the Ore Mountains Group Thalheim until the group dissolved in 1988.

Further professional positions were taking care of the coffee kitchen in Feinstrumpfwerk 3 Tannen , a field service activity in the state insurance company of the GDR as well as care for the elderly in VEB KSG Gornsdorf. In the 1980s, she became head of Thalheimer seniors clubs in the People's Solidarity .

From 1984 to 1990 she could be seen as a presenter on Christmas Eve in the GDR television program " Ihr Leitle freit eich alle " produced by Heinz Quermann . Since 1992 she has moderated the program “ This is how it sounds here in the Arzgebirge ”, in which the Ore Mountains and their home groups are presented on Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk as the seasons change.

On November 15, 2005, she was awarded the Order of Merit 1st Class for her “exceptional cultural and civic commitment to the Ore Mountains region” . On May 14, 2010 Marianne Martin was appointed an ambassador for the Erzgebirge by the district administrator of the Erzgebirgskreis , Frank Vogel .

Martin is Catholic and has been married since 1955.
