Bermsgrün is a district of the town of Schwarzenberg in the Saxon Ore Mountains .

history

The place arose as a double row forest hoof village in the Schwarzenberg rule and was first mentioned in 1448 as Bermaßgrün . The fact that the village was founded in 1193 - in 1993 the inhabitants celebrated the 800th anniversary - cannot be proven with documented sources and archaeological excavations.

From the beginning, the village, half an hour south of Schwarzenberg, was parish to Schwarzenberg, to which the Kirchsteig also leads.

At the beginning of the 19th century Bermsgrün had 101 houses, 626 inhabitants and was provided with handsome cherry tree plantations. At that time the inhabitants made lace and traded with it. Most of the men were forest workers, miners and hammer workers, coal and iron stone wagons. Some trained bullfinches to sing and traded abroad. Shale spar was quarried in the Bermsgrün area. Around 1800 a lead mine was discovered that contained some silver.

At the beginning of the Nazi era , the workers' home was used as a place of detention and torture for Nazi opponents. A "training castle" of the German Labor Front existed in Bermsgrün at this time.

In the GDR era there was a vacation home of the " VEB Braunkohlenwerk Großkayna " in Bermsgrün .

On January 1, 1999, Bermsgrün was incorporated into Schwarzenberg.
