Annette Birschel

Annette Birschel (* 1960 in Braunschweig ) is a German journalist .

Life

Birschel grew up in Bremen and studied history, journalism and literature in Hamburg and in the United States .

From 1988 to 1990 she worked for the central editorial office of the Evangelical Press Service (epd) in Frankfurt am Main . From 1991 to 1995 she worked for the epd UN correspondent in Geneva and since 1996 she has been an independent journalist for the epd and various ARD channels in the Netherlands and Flanders .

From 2002 to 2007 she was also chairman of the Association of Foreign Press in the Netherlands ( Buitenlandse Persvereniging in Nederland ). As a well-known foreigner, she regularly comments on events in Germany on Dutch television and radio.

She was married to a Dutchman and lives in Amsterdam .

Birschel has written three books about the manners and customs of the Dutch:
