Annette Karl (born January 13, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since October 20, 2008 .

education and profession

Karl was born in Berlin in 1960 and grew up in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1978 she graduated from high school and then studied mathematics from 1978 to 1984 at the Free University of Berlin .

Annette Karl is Roman Catholic, married and the mother of four children. From 1987 to 2008 she lived with her family in Altenstadt an der Waldnaab . She has lived in Neustadt an der Waldnaab since 2009 . In January 2011, Karl was appointed by Reinhard Cardinal Marx to the General Council of the Catholic Academy in Bavaria for four years . In July 2013 Karl was appointed to the regional committee of Catholics in Bavaria . She belongs to this as an individual.

politics

She has been a member of the SPD since 1995. From 1998 to 2008 she was a councilor in Altenstadt an der Waldnaab . She has been a member of the SPD state executive since 2002, and from 2009 to 2016 she was deputy state chairwoman of the Bavarian SPD. She is a district councilor in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district and has been the SPD district chairwoman since 2004. In 2008 Karl was parliamentary group leader of the district parliamentary group of her party in the district council . In the state elections in Bavaria in 2008 she was elected in the constituency of Upper Palatinate and has been a member of the Bavarian state parliament since then. There she is a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the Committee on Economy, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology . Karl is also a member of the IT advisory board.

In the state elections in Bavaria in 2013 , she achieved 28.1% of the first votes in her constituency and moved back to the Bavarian state parliament via the SPD list in the Upper Palatinate constituency .

Karl was a member of a Federal Assembly for the election of the German Federal President twice , namely the 14th Federal Assembly on June 30, 2010 and the 15th Federal Assembly on March 18, 2012.

Karl has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH since September 2016 .
