Annette Menting

Annette Menting (born February 23, 1965 in Dorsten ) is a German architect , architectural historian and university lecturer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Annette Menting studied architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts and graduated in 1991 with a diploma. After working for several years in the architectural office Hinrich Baller with a focus on social housing, she worked for five years as a research assistant in the architecture department of the Technical University of Berlin and did her doctorate with a thesis on Paul Baumgarten . She then worked as an architect in the office of Gerkan, Marg und Partner and, after winning a competition in 1998, took over the project management for the modernization and renovation of the Berlin Olympic Stadium .

Her architectural-historical work on the architect Max Taut was funded with a post-doctoral scholarship from the German Research Foundation and was published in 2003 as the first comprehensive documentation on Taut.

In 2000, Annette Menting was appointed professor for building history and building culture at the University of Technology, Economics and Culture in Leipzig . In the following years she built founded by Ingeborg flag event series positions of a forum, which was attended by architects, scientists and artists, including Volkwin Marg , Max Dudler , Zvi Hecker and Mischa Kuball .

As an architecture critic, Annette Menting has written articles on developments in recent architectural history and contemporary architecture.

Annette Menting is a member of the Association of German Architects, a member of the Working Group for Theory and Teaching of Monument Preservation, a member of the board of the Leipzig Cultural Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Leipzig Monument Foundation, a founding member of the Leipzig Building Culture Network and was a member of the jury in architectural competitions.
