Annette Rexrodt from Fircks

Annette Rexrodt von Fircks (* 1961 in Essen ) is a German author and founder of a foundation to support mothers with cancer and their children.

Live and act

Rexrodt von Fircks spent her childhood and youth in Essen, but now lives near Düsseldorf . She studied Romance philology and interpreting; then she worked as an editor and interpreter .

At the age of thirty-five, now the mother of three young children, she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer . After successfully healing, she wrote several books, two of which were audio books . “Your wish is to show people with cancer and their relatives the many possibilities that can be used to understand one another, to be able to help and to support healing.” This also includes brochures as the first “signposts to recovery”. In addition, she gives readings and lectures at home and abroad and is actively involved in the health sector.

In 2005 she took over the patronage of the nationwide campaign to prevent breast cancer . In the same year she founded the Rexrodt von Fircks Foundation , which among other things supports various institutions and projects for the benefit of cancer-stricken mothers and their children. Rexrodt von Fircks was honored with the Bild der Frau Award in 2006 for her social commitment .
