Annette Tabbara

Annette Tabbara (born November 23, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German administrative lawyer and political officer ( SPD ). Since October 1, 2019, she has been Head of the Department for Participation and Issues for People with Disabilities, Social Compensation and Social Assistance at the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs .

Career

From 1990 to 2000 studied Tabbara law at the universities of Hamburg and Dalhousie , doctorate to Dr. jur. and completed a legal traineeship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court . As a result, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Cologne in 2001, as a lawyer in a law firm in 2002, and from 2003 to 2005 as a head of department at Deutsche Rentenversicherung . From 2005 she held various positions (initially from 2005 to 2007 as a consultant, from 2007 to 2011 as a personal assistant to a permanent state secretary and from 2011 as head of department) inFederal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs before she became head of the working staff of the Minister of State at the Federal Chancellor and the office of the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration , Aydan Özoğuz . She worked in this role until she moved to the Hamburg Senate Chancellery .

On March 28, 2018, Tabbara was appointed by the newly elected First Mayor Peter Tschentscher as State Councilor and Plenipotentiary of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to the federal government, the European Union and for foreign affairs of the Tschentscher I Senate . She succeeded Wolfgang Schmidt , who followed his long-time political companion Olaf Scholz as State Secretary in the Merkel IV cabinet in the Federal Ministry of Finance . In her function as federal agent, Annette Tabbara was a member of the German-French and German-Russian friendship group of the Federal Council .

Since October 1, 2019, Tabbara has been Head of the Department for Participation and Issues for People with Disabilities, Social Compensation and Social Assistance at the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs .
