Annibale Comessatti (born January 30, 1886 in Udine , † September 13, 1945 in Padua ) was an Italian mathematician who dealt in particular with algebraic geometry, especially real algebraic geometry.

Comessatti studied at the University of Padua with Giuseppe Veronese , Gregorio Ricci-Curbastro , Tullio Levi-Civita and Francesco Severi with the Laurea degree in 1908. Afterwards he was Severi's assistant in Padua until he was professor of algebraic analysis and analytical geometry in 1920 due to a competition at the University of Cagliari . From 1922 he was a professor in Padua. He also taught in Ferrara (1924-1927) and Bologna (1937-1939).

He was a member of the Accademia dei Lincei from 1935 . He was also a member of the Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, the Accademia di Padova, the Istituto Lombardo, the Istituto Venet and the Société royale des Sciences in Liège. In 1926 he received the Mathematics Prize of the Accademia dei XL and in 1933 the Feltrinelli Prize of the Accademia dei Lincei.

Ugo Morin was one of his students .
