Annika Dries (born February 10, 1992 in San Diego ) is an American water polo player . In 2012 she won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in London with the US national water polo team .

Athletic career

Dries began her career at Laguna Beach High School and was named to the national team's junior team in 2006. She has played for the Stanford University team since 2009 . She has been with the national team since 2010 and played at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, the 2012 World Water Polo League and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London (2 goals), where she won gold with her national team.

Private

Dries is studying human biology at Stanford University . In her private life she is involved in breast cancer research .
