Hicks started in Canmore in January 2009 for the first time in the Nor Am Cup and finished 29th in the 10 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2011 in Otepää , she achieved 56th place over 5 km freestyle, 31st place in the skiathlon and 11th place with the relay. In the following year she came in the U23 World Championships 2012 in Erzurum on the 37th place over 10 km classic and on the 33th place in the skiathlon. After she reached her first podium in the Nor Am Cup at the beginning of the 2012/13 season in Vernon with second place in the 10 km mass start race, she made her debut in Canmore in the cross-country skiing world cup . In the classic race over 10 km, she finished 54th. At the U23 World Championships in 2013 in Erzurum, she achieved 37th place over 10 km freestyle and 32nd place in the skiathlon. In the 2015/16 season she reached ninth place overall in the Nor Am Cup. She achieved second place and third place once. She finished the Ski Tour Canada 2016 in 47th place. She got her first World Cup points in the 2016/17 season at the World Cup in Pyeongchang . At the skiathlon on February 4, 2017, she finished 26th, collecting 5 World Cup points. In the 2017/18 season she came third four times and second twice in the Nor Am Cup. She took her first win in the 10K mass start race at Red Deer and finished third overall at the end of the season.
