Annika Suthe

Annika Suthe (born October 15, 1985 in Mettingen ) is a German javelin thrower who took part in the 2004 Olympic Games .

Annika Suthe was initially trained by her father Hubert Suthe. In 2004 she was runner-up at the World Youth Championships, qualifying for the Olympic Games. After her 21st place in qualification at the Olympic Games, she won the 2005 European Championships for under 23-year-olds. In 2006 she finished eighth at the European Championships in Gothenburg and the following year she won silver at the U23 European Championships.

Her personal best since 2004 is 61.38 m. Annika Suthe is 1.75 m tall and has a competition weight of 68 kg.

After the disappointing ninth place at the German Athletics Championships 2011 in Kassel , she announced the end of her sporting career. She cited persistent problems with her shoulder as the reason . Suthe had previously had to undergo two shoulder operations in 2007 and 2009.

After she in her youth already at Handball Club (HC) Ibbenbüren as handball had been active, she trained with the 04 Leverkusen Bundesliga Ladies Bayer .

Annika Suthe works as a physiotherapist in Osnabrück and is also completing an apprenticeship as an osteopath .
