Anning (Kunming)
The city of Anning (安宁 市; Pinyin : Ānníng Shì) is an independent city in the independent city of Kunming , the capital of the Chinese province of Yunnan . It has an area of 1,313 km² and has around 260,000 inhabitants (2002).
Anning is known for its hot springs, among other things. These have been known since the Eastern Han Dynasty (1st to 3rd centuries). They have been used therapeutically since the early 15th century. The water in the springs is around 45 degrees Celsius and contains calcium , magnesium and sodium , among other things .
