Anouar Ayed ( Arabic أنور عياد, DMG Anwar ʿIyād ; * May 9, 1978 in Moknine , Tunisia ) is a Tunisian handball player .

Ayed plays for the Tunisian top club Étoile Sportive du Sahel and is mostly used as a left winger.

In his home country he won the championship three times (1999, 2002, 2003) and the cup once (2000). From 2004 to 2013 he played in the 1st French handball league for Fenix ​​Toulouse Handball and in October 2011 was the first player to break the 1000 goal mark. In the summer of 2013 he returned to his homeland.

With the national team he took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2012 Olympic Games in London, as well as the World Championships in 2001 , 2003 , 2005 , 2007 , 2009 and 2011 . He was also the African champion in 2010 and 2012 . He ended his international career in summer 2012 and is the record national player with 278 appearances (621 goals) ahead of Heykel Megannem with 272 and Issam Tej with 269 internationals.
