Heykel Megannem ( Arabic هيكل مقنم, DMG Haikal Muqannam ; * February 28, 1977 in Moknine / Tunisia ) is a Tunisian handball player . He is 1.88 m tall.

Megannem, who plays for the Qatari club al-Jaish and plays for the Tunisian men's national handball team, is usually used as the middle backcourt .

Heykel Megannem started playing handball in his hometown of Moknine. At the age of 18 he was discovered and signed by the top club Espérance Sportive de Tunis . With Tunis he was several times Tunisian champion and cup winner. Through the national team, he recommended himself for European clubs; In 2002 the French first division club SC Sélestat Handball signed him . After he was voted the best back center player in the league in 2005, he moved on to USAM Nîmes , where he was even voted the best overall player in the league in 2006. In 2007 he was signed by the top club Montpellier HB . Two years later he moved to Saint-Raphaël Var Handball. In March 2013 he left Saint-Raphaël and joined the Qatari club Lekhwiya Sports Club Doha . With Lekhwiya he won the championship in 2013.

Megannem played 276 international matches for the Tunisian men's national handball team . With his country he became African champions in 1998, 2002 and 2005 . At the men's handball world championship in 2005 in his own country, he finished fourth with Tunisia, but at the 2007 World Cup in Germany he was eliminated from the main group and ended up in 11th place. In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London .
