Anstruther Easter Parish Church
The Anstruther Easter Parish Church , also St Adrian's Parish Church , is a church building of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland in the Scottish town of Anstruther in the Council Area Fife . In 1972 the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A. The church is also part of a category B monument ensemble.
history
It was James Melville who initiated the purchase of the land to build a church in the 1590s. After his expulsion under Jacob VI. However, the project stood still for a long time. It was not until the 1630s that the Parish Anstruther Easter was split off from the Parish Kilrenny and the Anstruther Easter Parish Church was built as a parish church in 1634. The bell tower's pointed spire was added ten years later. In 1834 the church building was revised and the orientation was also rotated. The organ of Taylor from Leicester in 1907 installed. In 1930 the parish was merged with that of the Anstruther Wester Parish Church . In 2012 the interior was renovated.

The Anstruther Easter Parish Church is located near the city green in the center of the village on the main road Anstruther ( A917 ). Its masonry consists partly of stone blocks, partly of quarry stone and is partly plastered with Harl . The asymmetrical tower on the western gable side is striking. It closes with a stone balustrade below that of the pointed spire with a porthole . The high, slate-covered gable roof has a relatively steep incline. Along the southern flank pull to triplets coupled arched windows . A high, arched triplet window can be found on the eastern gable side.
