history

From April 1998 to December 2004 the radio station dominated by Moser Holding broadcasted under the name “Antenne Tirol”. In the years 1999 to 2001, Antenne Tirol was one of the more successful private radio stations with a market share of around 20 percent. Under the leadership of the then managing director Matthias Nieswandt (later including TV Munich, n-tv, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Antenne Salzburg) and the program director Matthias Schrom (Ö3, ORF-Tirol, ORF-Vienna, Zeit im Bild) have numerous well-known moderators and editors their careers started. The moderation team during this time included TV star Mirjam Weichselbraun and the Ö3 moderators Benny Hörtnagl and Thomas Kamenar . ORF Radio Tirol presenters Thomas Arbeiter , Markus Feichter and Barbara Kohla also started their careers at Antenne Tirol. The current ORF correspondent in Brussels, Barbara Herbst , worked as head of duty at Antenne Tirol. During these years, Antenne Tirol has positioned itself as an AC radio with a comprehensive range of information.

The transmitter also has all the political, chronikalen, sporting and social major events partly transmitted with elaborately produced live broadcasts ( Galtür disaster , Bergisel - disaster in 1999 , solar eclipse in 1999 , Hahnenkamm Race , Four Hills Tournament , Bundesliga and European Cup).

The Antenne Tirol team also launched Radio Arabella Tirol, Austria's first Arabella radio, and produced the program for it.

Today's Antenne Tirol was created in December 2004 when the naming rights reverted to the Fellner Group and they used it to rename the former Radio Arabella Tirol to Antenne Tirol.

The frequencies consisted of 3 licenses, one for the Oberland including Innsbruck, one for the Unterland and one for East Tyrol. The licenses for the Oberland and East Tyrol were incorporated into the nationwide license of the Fellner Group for Radio Austria in November 2019 . The frequencies for the Unterland remained for legal reasons because this license was only recently renewed.

Furthermore, the antenna Tirol program can be received via live stream over the Internet.
