Anthonij Aardewijn (also Anthony Aardewijn, Anthony Aardewyn; * (baptized) February 23, 1698 in Amsterdam ; † (buried) August 18, 1771 ibid) was a Dutch painter .

From 1722 to 1723 he was commissioned to paint and gild the 1721 built and at the time largest baroque organ by Arp Schnitger in the Sint-Michaëlskerk in Zwolle with the carvings by the sculptors Jurriën Westerman, Herman van der Borgh and Herman Weideman. On March 25, 1723, he obtained the right to marry in Amsterdam and married Maria van den Bosch (1703–1756), on August 4, 1723, thanks to the merit acquired in Zwolle, he acquired the citizenship of Amsterdam and in September 1723 he became after payment the painter tax included in the painters' guild , which opened up the possibility of public contracts. In 1739 he was involved in the design of the Jongenshuis (Burgerweeshuis in the Kalverstraat, today the Amsterdam Museum ), for which, according to archival documents, he received "a large amount". Aardewijn lived in the Reestraat and, according to his will from 1757, bequeathed the house to his stepsister, who had married into the Amsterdam family of the Idsert, after a childless marriage.
