Anthony Frederick Tonnos
Anthony Frederick Tonnos (born August 1, 1935 in Port Colborne ) is former Bishop of Hamilton .
Life
Anthony Frederick Tonnos was ordained a priest on May 27, 1961 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Hamilton and titular bishop of Nationa on May 13, 1983 . The episcopal ordination donated him the bishop emeritus of Saint Catharines , Thomas Joseph McCarthy , on July 12 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Thomas Benjamin Fulton , Bishop of Saint Catharines , and Paul Francis Reding , Bishop of Hamilton.
He was named Bishop of Hamilton on May 2, 1984, and inducted into office on June 18 of the same year. On September 24, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
