Life notes

Lover has been in the film industry since 1965 when he was first employed as a camera assistant and title writer. Lover became better known for his work on the Oscar-nominated short film parody De Düva (1968), which he co-directed with George Coe and also produced with Coe and Sidney Davis . He was also behind the camera and was responsible for editing the film. In the comedy film, the thoughts of a professor who is on his way to a seminar go back in time when he is confronted with a pigeon. The film parodies some works by the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman , such as the film dramas Wild Strawberries , where a professor struggles with daydreams and memories while driving a car, and The Seventh Seal , in which a knight obtains a respite from death.

In the film drama Deadly distance (distance) from 1975 Lover directed, stood behind the camera and also worked as an editor . The film is about two couples and their marital problems, whereby the problems of one of the couples can be traced back to their different ethnicity and those of the other couple to the infidelity of the husband. The men serve in the army. Under the title ABC Afterschool Specials , various educational films that were shown on television in the afternoons were summarized. They were each produced by different companies. Lover performed The Late Great Me! Story of a Teenage Alcoholic Director. The content of the film is the alcohol problem of a 15-year-old who tries to impress a boy and as a result consumes more and more alcoholic drinks.

Lovers' drama My Brother starring Vanessa Lynn Williams and Tatum O'Neal was released in 2007. Not only did he direct, but he also wrote the script. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the American Black Film Festival . It tells the story of the two impoverished boys, Isaiah and James, with James being disabled. The mother of the boys is in a hopeless situation.
