Anthony Welsh

Anthony Welsh (born July 5, 1983 in London ) is an English film actor .

Life

Anthony Welsh was born in 1983 in London, where he grew up. After graduating from high school, by his own admission, he took acting classes in evening classes at Richmond Adult Community College. After graduating from the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art , Welsh made his professional debut in The Brothers Size at the Young Vic Theater in 2008 . In 2012 he made his feature film debut alongside Terrence Howard , Cuba Gooding Jr. and David Oyelowo in the historical drama Red Tails . Since then, Welsh has appeared in numerous critically acclaimed series and films, including Walls of Violence and The Girl with All the Gifts , which premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2016, and two episodes of Fleabag and in the same year in an episode of Black Mirror the following year . In 2019 he made some appearances in the series Brassic and Pure and in the film The Personal History of David Copperfield by Armando Iannucci .

Also in 2019 he was selected by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts as one of 21 actors supported by BAFTA's Elevate initiative for a year.
