Antirrhinum meonanthum a plant is art from the genus of snapdragons ( Antirrhinum ) in the family of plantain plants (Plantaginaceae).
description
Antirrhinum meonanthum is a perennial , herbaceous plant whose upright and sparsely branched stems reach heights of growth of 120 cm. The plant is at least in the inflorescence, occasionally completely hairy glandular. The leaves, which are opposite below and alternate above, are 25 to 70 mm long and 8 to 30 mm wide, lanceolate to ovate, pointed or spiky and hairless or hairy glandular or downy.
The inflorescences are 20 to 35 cm long bunches of 30 to 60 (occasionally up to 100) flowers . The bracts are usually 5 to 10 mm long, linear-lanceolate, but the lowest gradually become similar to the leaves. The flower stalks are 1 to 4 mm long. The calyx lobes are 5 to 8 mm long, ovate-lanceolate and pointed. The crown is 18 to 25 mm long and colored pale yellow.
The fruits are elongated, glandular hairy capsules with a length of 7 to 10 mm.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.
Occurrence
The species is distributed in central Spain , northwestern Spain and northern Portugal .
