Antoine Clairiard de Choiseul de Beaupré
Antoine Clairiard de Choiseul de Beaupré (born September 28, 1707 at Daillecourt Castle , France , † January 7, 1774 in Besançon ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .
Life
He came from the noble family of the Dukes of Angers and was the son of Antoine Clériadus, Count of Choiseul, Lord of Daillecourt, and his wife Anne Françoise de Barillon de Morangis. After studying theology in Paris, which he completed with a doctorate in theology, he became vicar general for the diocese of Mende .
Pope Benedict XIV appointed him Archbishop of Besançon and Pope Clement XIII on March 17, 1755 . created him on November 23, 1761 cardinal priest . However, he never went to Rome to receive the cardinal's hat and a titular church . Having held the title of chaplain to the King of Poland since 1764, he took part in the conclave of 1769 .
