Schroeder's Wonderful World is a feature film by Michael Schorr from the year 2006 . The satire tells the story of Frank Schröder, who wants to build the tropical paradise "Lagoon Magic" in his home town in the Saxon border triangle with Poland and the Czech Republic. For this he would like to win over the Russian-American investor John Gregory ( Jürgen Prochnow ). Similar to Teutschenthal in Schultze gets the blues , the film shows a portrait of the economic decline in this region around Zittau . The amusement park Tropical Islands in Brandenburg, which was built in an airship hangar after the bankruptcy of Cargolifter AG , served as one of the sets of the film.

Reviews

"Funny and snappy satire against the background of German reunification and the economic promises for the new countries that have only paid off for a few investors and businessmen."
