Antal Amadé de Várkonyi
Antal Amadé de Várkonyi (first name also Croatian: Antun ; born November 25, 1760 in Bős, today's Gabčíkovo ; † January 1, 1835 in Marcaltő ) was a Hungarian count and prefect of Zagreb in Croatia .
life and career
Antal Amadé de Várkonyi founded the first public theater in Zagreb in 1797 . It was therefore called the Amadeos Theater . The building in which Amadeos Theater was located is now the Croatian Museum of Natural History and, since 2000, the Amadeo - Theater and Music Society .
In 1834 he closed his theater and retired to his country estate in Hungary.
