Anton Degen

Anton Degen (born June 9, 1920 in Bütthard ; † November 28, 1978 in Kleinwallstadt ) was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the SPD from 1958 to 1974 .

Degen's family moved to Kleinwallstadt just a month after he was born. In 1934 he began his apprenticeship as a businessman and then worked as a commercial clerk in Aschaffenburg and Würzburg . During the Second World War he was active in the Reich Labor Service and in the military. After he was released from American captivity , he was employed as an administrative officer at the general local health insurance fund in Aschaffenburg. At the SPD, which he joined in September 1946, he was chairman of the Aschaffenburg sub-district from 1960, from 1952 he was a member of the local council and the district council of the district of Obernburg , where he was also parliamentary group chairman. From 1958 to 1974 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament as a member of the Lower Franconian constituency list . Anton Degen was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit on June 9, 1969 .
