Anton Dermota ( January 1, 1876 in Železniki , Austria-Hungary - May 3, 1914 in Gorizia , Austria-Hungary ) was a Slovenian lawyer, politician and translator.

Life

Dermota studied from 1889 to 1896 Jura, a doctorate in 1905 at the University of Prague Dr. jur. and from 1908 worked as a lawyer in Gorizia . As a social democrat he dealt critically with the social and political conditions at the time and fought against capitalism. He also translated works by the Czech poets Anna Řeháková , Gabriela Preissová and the novel Magdalena by Josef Svatopluk Machar into Slovenian.
