Mirela Barbălată

Mirela Barbălată (born October 23, 1967 ) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast .

She did gymnastics at CSM Oneşti and twice, in 1979 and 1984, was Romanian champion in jumping . Between 1982 and 1985 Barbălată took part in international competitions.

She achieved her greatest success in 1983. At the World Championships in Budapest Barbălată won the silver medal in the team standings behind the Soviet Union with the Romanian gymnastics team with Lavinia Agache , Ecaterina Szabó , Laura Cutina , Mihaela Stănuleț and Simona Renciu . Barbălată received the perfect grade of 10.0 during the jump.

In 1985 Barbălată took part in the Universiade in Kobe. There she won the silver medal with the Romanian team and reached fourth place in the all-around competition.
