Laura Cutina

Laura Cutina (born September 13, 1968 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

In 1983 Cutina took part in the world championships for the first time . In Budapest she was runner-up in the team all-around competition and in the individual all-around competition she reached ninth place. At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, she won the gold medal with the Romanian team with Lavinia Agache , Cristina Grigoraş , Simona Păuca , Mihaela Stănuleț and Ecaterina Szabó . In addition, she was fifth in the individual all-around and eighth in the floor exercise.

In 1985 Cutina reached eleventh place in the individual all-around at the European gymnastics championships and seventh place in the jump. In the same year, the world championships took place in Montreal . There Cutina became vice world champion again with the team. She was also twelfth in the individual all-around.

After her competitive sports career, Cutina became a trainer and worked in Italy, among other places. After her wedding in 2011 to a Romanian living in the USA, she trained in Las Vegas.
