Anton Dietrich Carl von Ingelheim
Anton Dietrich Carl von Ingelheim (born February 18, 1690 in Aschaffenburg , † August 22, 1750 in Geisenheim ) was an imperial count , choir bishop and diplomat in the prince-bishopric of Trier .
Origin and family
He came from the noble family of Ingelheim and was born the son of Franz Adolf Dietrich von Ingelheim (1659–1742), Kurmainzer Vitztum des Rheingau , and his wife Ursula von Dalberg (1668–1730). Since the marriage of the heir daughter of the noble family of the Echter von Mespelbrunn , which died out in the male line , in the 17th century, the family carried the full name of Count von Ingelheim called Echter von und zu Mespelbrunn . Six of his sisters lived as religious canons , his brother Anselm Franz von Ingelheim (1683–1749) became Prince-Bishop of Würzburg . Maria Clara von Dalberg b. von Schönborn , her maternal grandmother, was the sister of Mainz Elector Lothar Franz von Schönborn , whose predecessor Anselm Franz von Ingelheim (1634–1695) was the great cousin of her grandfather Philipp Ludwig von Ingelheim.
Life
Anton Dietrich Carl embarked on a spiritual career. He became cathedral capitular in the prince-bishopric of Trier and worked there as chief choir bishop from 1734. In the diocese of Liège and in Halberstadt , he owned a canon donation. He also belonged to the monastery chapter of St. Alban near Mainz . From 1734 Baron von Ingelheim officiated as Elector Trier governor in Koblenz . He also held the offices of Imperial and Trier Privy Councilor . In the elections of Emperors Charles VII (1742) and Franz I Stephan (1745) Ingelheim acted as his elector's envoy.
