Anton Fokin (born November 13, 1982 in Tashkent , Uzbekistan ) is an Uzbek gymnast who can boast international successes, especially on parallel bars .

Career

Fokin started gymnastics in 1988. His specialty was the parallel bars, at which he was among the best in the world. At the 2007 World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart , Fokin received 16,200 points for his exercise on parallel bars and took bronze behind Mitja Petkovšek from Slovenia and Kim Dae Eun from South Korea . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , too , Fokin took third place on parallel bars, also with a score of 16,200. Fokin also took part in the 2016 Olympics but failed to qualify for a final.

In addition to his career as an athlete, Fokin also works as a trainer. From 2014 to 2018 he was the head coach of KTV Straubenhardt , and in July 2018 he announced his return to Uzbekistan.
