Anton Funtek
Anton Funtek (born October 30, 1862 in Ljubljana ; † October 21, 1932 there ) was a Slovenian writer.
After visiting the teacher training institute in his hometown, Funtek worked as a teacher in Littai and Sankt Veit with parakeets. From 1889 to 1894 he was a specialist teacher at the trade school and professor at the Ljubljana Teachers' College. He also worked as an editor of the Ljubljanski Zvon , the Laibacher Zeitung and the official gazette .
In addition to poems, Funtek published dramas and translated a. a. Shakespeare's King Lear , Goethe's Faust and Schiller's Song of the Bell into Slovenian. His piece Teharski plemici was set to music by Benjamin Ipavec .
