Anton Grzywienski

Anton Grzywienski (born October 3, 1898 in Tyrnau , † April 9, 1982 in Vienna ) was an Austrian technician .

Life

After completing his civil engineering studies at the Vienna University of Technology , Anton Grzywienski was employed as a civil engineer by the Dutch government in Indonesia before he returned to Vienna in 1925. In addition to professional activities in engineering offices, he received his doctorate in 1929 from the Vienna University of Technology. Anton Grzywienski - he completed his habilitation in 1935 - was transferred to the professorship for hydraulic engineering in 1946 , which he held until his retirement in 1971. On January 15, 1968, the City of Vienna's City Planning Department won him over as a consultant for the improvement of the Danube flood protection in Vienna.

Anton Grzywienski - he enjoyed an international reputation as an expert in the fields of river engineering and hydraulic engineering - was honored in 1964 with the award of the City of Vienna Prize for Natural Sciences . He was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .
