biography

In 1976 Hörl began training as a figure ceramist at the Nymphenburg porcelain factory . In 1979 he was taken on as a skilled worker. Since then he has been responsible for the design and execution of numerous figures, including the “Blue Panther”, which is presented to the winners every year as part of the Bavarian TV Prize.

In 1992, Anton Hörl became a master and was appointed head of the manufactory's figure department. In 1993 and 1994 he attended the bronze casting class at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg (with Josef Zenzmaier ) and has since developed his own artistic statement in the materials bronze, porcelain and terracotta. In his art, which is entirely determined by the figurative, he is always oriented towards nature; its representation is never completely abstract. As an example, he designed the portrait bust of Marilyn Monroe very lifelike but the back of the head as death. In doing so, he abstracts transience. As part of his work at the porcelain factory, he repeatedly produces commissioned work such as B. “Daisy Mooshammer”, Bavarian lions and custom-made products for Saâdane Afif . In 2001 he was nominated for the Zelli Porcelain Award for the first time. In addition to his sculptural work, Anton Hörl draws nudes and portraits in pencil, ink, even tea and coffee, and paints landscapes in watercolor.

Since 2007 he has participated as an artist in exhibitions, especially in the Munich area, in 2008 he exhibited at “Zelli's Porcelain” in London and in the Stemmerhof sculpture garden. In 2011 he was accepted as a member by the “Friends of the Künstlerhaus München eV”, as well as by the Kauz artists' group and the traditional artist society Allotria . His works have been shown in exhibitions of the Munich Artists' Cooperative in the Haus der Kunst Munich and in the Künstlerhaus Munich.

In 2015 he was appointed president of the artist society Allotria.

Hörl has a daughter (* 1990).
