Anton Himstedt

Anton Himstedt (born February 12, 1952 in Wiesbaden ) is a German sculptor.

Himstedt studied fine arts and Egyptology at the University of Cologne and the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . He received u. a. a Wilhelm Lehmbruck grant (1984), a Philipp Morris grant (1989) and a grant from the Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral (1997). In addition to numerous group exhibitions - u. a. in the Kunsthalle Bielefeld and the Kunsthalle Winterthur (1978–1988), at the art fair in Cologne (1989), in the Kunstpalast Vilnus , in the Kunstmuseum Minsk , the Leningrad Manege and the Ukrainian Museum Kiev (1990), the Kunsthalle Bremen (1995) and the Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern (1995 and 2000) - he also had several solo exhibitions, including in the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum (1986), the Kunsthalle Winterthur (1990), Form als Opening in the Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern (1994) and in the State Museum Schwerin (1996) and FOND. Performance in Quadrat Bottrop , the Westphalian State Museum Münster, the Zeche Zollverein Essen and the Sculpture Museum Glaskasten Marl (2006).
