In 1976 the city of Duisburg donated the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Scholarship , named after the sculptor Wilhelm Lehmbruck , who was born in Duisburg-Meiderich in 1881 . This scholarship is awarded every two years to three visual artists who are given a studio for a period of two years in the Dreigiebelhaus and receive a monthly sum of money. The scholarship ends with an exhibition of the works of the scholarship holders developed in Duisburg in the Lehmbruck Museum , which is documented in a catalog.
