Luka Fineisen

Luka Fineisen (* 1974 in Offenburg ) is a German visual artist .

life and work

Luka Fineisen grew up as the eldest child of the teacher and headmaster Thomi Vogt and his wife Inge together with their two brothers in Offenburg. From 1996 to 1998 she studied art at the Memphis College of Art (USA). After working in Vermont and Chicago , she returned to Germany in 1999 and studied from 1999 to 2005, from 2003 as a master class student , at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Fritz Schwegler and Irmin Kamp . For her sometimes space-filling works, she uses materials such as ice, water vapor, foam, liquid plastics and molten metal, but also buttermilk and honey.

In 2007 she received both the Max Pechstein Prize of the City of Zwickau and the ADO Art Prize of the Düsseldorf Art Academy.
