The 2010/11 season of the Bayernliga was the 66th season of the Bayernliga soccer league and the third as the fifth-highest division in Germany. The season began on July 24, 2010 and ended on May 28, 2011. The champion and promoted player in the regional league was FC Ismaning , three points ahead of the second team of FC Ingolstadt 04 . Since Ismaning had not applied for a license for the regional league , the second-placed Ingolstadt team rose to the regional league.
The relegation places occupied the SV Schalding-Heining and Free TuS Regensburg . Since the teams in ranks 15 and 16 were tied at the end of the season, they played in an additional play-off game to stay in the league. There SpVgg Bayern Hof made the leap to the relegation place , while SpVgg Bayreuth was the third team to be relegated directly. In the subsequent relegation round with the runner-up in the Bavarian State League , SpVgg Bayern Hof managed to stay up.
VfL Frohnlach , SB DJK Rosenheim and SC Eltersdorf rose from the three seasons of the Bavarian State League as the respective season winners. TSV Gersthofen qualified as the fourth climber in the relegation round .
The top scorer was Benjamin Neunteufel from SV Schalding-Heining with 25 goals.

Placement game
Since the teams in ranks 15 and 16 were tied, according to the statutes of the Bavarian Football Association, both the goal difference and the direct comparison are not used as a criterion for determining the placement in such a case, the teams played a placement game after the end of the season to determine the third direct relegation to the Bavarian State League . The game took place in a neutral place in Bamberg .
While the loser was relegated , the winner qualified for the relegation round , in which the runners-up of the three national league seasons also took part.
